I’d always believed the Higgs Boson got it nickname from the fact that its existence was undocumented and based on belief. Now that there is actual evidence of the existence of the Higgs Boson, perhaps a name change is in order. The “God” particle could become the “factual” particle, or the “scientific evidence” particle, or the “reason” particle.
